Thanks to all those peeps who came to see us open for Cheap Trick last night. Surreal evening for sure hanging backstage with grumpy Joey Kramer, Gary Cherone, the long haired guy from the Eagles, and Joe Perry. Our dressing room was the Electrical Storage closet and depot for soda. Regardless, playing a sold out HOB show and watching Cheap Trick rip through their catalog of timeless hits was really a fun night out. Having Robin Zander complement me was definitely icing on the cake.
Well after that excitement I will try to keep the rush of playing for large crowds with a special Tuesday night performance at the Alchemist Lounge in Jamaica Plain on February 16th. It’s a free affair and I usually play what ever people tell me to.
Next Dear Leader shows are in March with a 2 night stand at Great Scott.

Saw you with my all time favorite band, Cheap Trick, last night. Honestly never heard of Dear Leader before (recently moved back to the US and have only been here a couple months). You guys totally rocked!! And the ass in the crowd couldn’t have been more wrong! I bought your CD after the show and have listened to it several times today. Thanks for a great show, you’ve got new fans!
Great show! My 2 little girls came to see Cheap Trick and now also have Dear Leader in their bedtime music rotation! Nice to meet Paul at the alley as he maneuvered around the CT vans. Nice guy and incredible drummer!
Didn’t know what to expect the other night at Cheap Trick show! We were pleasantly suprised..you sounded great! Usually you forget a backup band for a headliner like Cheap Trick. We will get the word out about you guys! My favorite was “Radar”! You’ve got this Brit 80′s sound which is cool! On a funny side note..my girlfriend thought you looked like that kid actor. The one in that “Christmas Story” movie! Traded in the Red Ryder BB gun for a Red Rockin’ Guitar! How cool is that?
